James Hongyi Zeng

I joined Facebook networking group in 2014. Currently I lead teams working on network analytics and edge traffic engineering. I received my PhD degree at Stanford University, working with Professor Nick McKeown and Professor George Varghese. Before that, I received the Master's Degree from Department of Electrical Engineering at Stanford and the Bachelor's Degree from Department of Electronic Engineering at Tsinghua University.

Research

I'm broadly interested in aspects on computer networks and systems. My research focuses on formal network testing, software-defined network, and programmable hardware. Recently, I worked on automatic data plan testing systems, including ATPG and Libra, helping network engineers better troubleshoot massive scale networks.

I was also a core hardware developer in the NetFPGA project. NetFPGA is a hardware platform for networking research and education. Many research systems run on NetFPGA, and it is being used around the world. I was a lead developer on NetFPGA-10G, the next generation 80Gbps platform for prototyping the future Internet.
